My baby said her first word a few days ago! She was 7 months and 3 weeks when she said it. She said "Titi" (which is like auntie but in spanish). My sister is thrilled. I'm a little sad cuz I want to her "mama" but I'm thrilled that she said something.

I do understand your disappointment about the "mama" thing - my DD's first word was "kitty".

How exciting! Congratulations!! /m/ is a more difficult sound, but she'll be saying mama before you know it!

My son's first word was Kitty as well. He used to stop nursing everytime that cat walked into the room.
