Does anyone have any recommendations for wearing a 26 pound 14 month old? I have been using a mei-hip and a mei tai, but wondering if there are other options.
The mei-hip digs into my shoulder. Is there any way to prevent this?
Also, I have tried back carries with the mei tai, but ds just doesn't seem comfortable. He squirms and wiggles, and he never did that in the front carry.

Any suggestions?

I am not sure how to do the high back carry with a mei tai.

I had an Ellaroo wrap when he was younger and never got the hang of it. Which hold would you use for an older baby with a woven wrap?

I use the Ergo, a baby backpack, or my sling to carry my 24lb. 17 mo. old child. The Ergo takes a bit to get used to, but is a great carrier and ds loves it. I do the hip carry with my sling. The backpack is self explanitory.

Huh. Squirmy, is he?
The high back carry hurt my...everything. I didn't like it at all.
Is your mei tai a longer or shorter-bodied carrier?
I ask because if it is a longer-bodied one and you have not rolled/folded it up enough at the bottom, he might be hanging by his little armpits and uncomfortable back there. I had that problem at the beginning.

Also, do you tie the waist strap at your hips? or up higher at your true waist. If it isn't at your true waist then your dc will be straddling your hips and tushie and will be waving around too much when you walk. I'm grasping here, but my friend had that problem.
