yep, I do it all the time. If your baby can sit securely on your hip, you can do it. I like the rings to end up in the regular place, so if I'm planning the back carry (as opposed to sliding babe around out of spontaneous necessity), I put the rings behind my shoulder, then put the baby in on my hip. Without tightening the fabric, i get it the way it needs to be around her body, with all the slack on the rings side. Then I slide her around to my back and tighten. Sometimes when she's already on my hip, I slide her around back and the rings end up lower. That's ok as long as nothing is smooshing your boobs. It might freak her out at first if she's not used to being back there. Try to take her outside and make it fun the first few times.
