I'm debating on having my parents get me an ERGO carrier for Christmas. Ds will be almost a year old by then. The problem is that I've got rather long hair and he loves to grab, pull and chew on it. I pull it up and try to keep loose curls from escaping to tempt him, but he manages to get a hold of some hair whenever he is within reach. Does anyone with a hair-pulling ds or dd carry them on their back at all? Or does anyone know when the hair fixation might end? I don't want all of that money to be invested into a carrier that I can't use, but I'd really like to be able to work it out somehow...

My dd was a hair puller at that age, too. I just braided so it didn't hurt too much, put it up, or tucked it into a hat.

And, the hair fixation passed by about 14 months.

Yup, I too had a hair pulling DS. My solution was to make DH cart him around . It didn't last that long tho, maybe a month or two? He's on to bigger and better things now...(like trying to chew on his boot while in the backpack. No eay feat!)
