So I got a notice saying we have no car registration for GA because they said we had a laps in insurence. I know we didn't! So I called and this very mean lady went up one side of me and down the other. Something about me changing insurence to TX while registration was in GA and how I can not do that and I tried to explain hubby takes care of such things and he is deployed and she said "Well thats a personal issue" and all I was trying to do was understnad this and find out what I need to do to fix it. I was actually really nice but just ended up in tears over how mean this lady kept being. She said I could move back to GA and get GA insurence again or get TX registration. I am lost though as the van is not in my name and Hubby was sure it was ok keep the GA registration as that is his state of residence...... In anycase, I have to fix this now and I do not even have the energy or will to look it up today.

I was doing ok.... now this. Top it off with me breaking my laptop power thingy that will cost over $100 to replace and I am worried about money now. No more laptop in bed, and so my hands and feet are swelling even more with me on the desktop.

I am sorry for the whining. I know things could be worse, right now things just seems so hard, every little thing so hard, and I just do not think I can deal with one more mean person today.

Can you call your ombudsman?

This is ludicrous! Your dh can register his car in his home state and have insurance wherever he darn well pleases. If the registration expires, he just has to call and have a new one sent from Georgia. If insurance is giving you grief, you need to change insurance. USAA has always been good to us.

Do you have power of attorney? You should be able to take care of everything.

I'm sorry she was so mean to you, Mama. She obviously doesn't know what she's talking about... Good grief.

I had problems like this when we moved to CA because you have X amount of days to get it done and even without a deployed hubby, he was too busy to deal with it and I was too overwhelmed. I do certain things well and the rest he does and we're great. But when it bleeds into my area.. I lose it.

Sorry, mama! I know how you must be feeling.

So sorry mama! That's a lot of stress to deal with on your own!

Civilians have a certain amount of days to get it done, but military service members do not have to at all.

My dh legally drove around with an expired license for almost a year because he just didn't have time to get it renewed in his home state of residence. He just showed his military id with his license whenever anyone needed it.

This thing with your registration and insurance is definitely someone else's mistake. I can't remember the name of the laws...maybe part of the soldier and sailors protection acts?

Anyway, I hope it gets resolved soon...and I certainly don't envy you having to mop it all up on your own!

Right now I am honestly not sure if hubby made a mistake or if we have special military laws for this. Either way the lady was a really horrible for no good reason and I am a mess because of it. Ok, maybe it has more to do with the horrible luck I have been having.... someone stole my card info and went spendy happy a few weeks ago and bank it taking forever to fix it. I got scammed by a yard lady for $100.... I have almost no savings at all and things keep breaking. Laptop wire snapped in a way that makes me replace it all for over $100 and now new registration and inspections and who knows if I can even get it done as with all the moves I can not find my POA. And worst, friends I thought I could count on seem too busy or not to care and I do not want to bug them as I do not want to be a burden...... Honestly though, yesterday I thought I could handle anything, today I feel just so weak.

Oh, Mama. What a rotten string of stress!

Do you have a persu or the equivalent...someone who handles all the technical document stuff for your dh's unit?

I would go to the base and talk to someone...although I'm not sure who. Can you talk with someone at the family resource center and see if they can connect you to the right person to clear it up? You've just got too much on your plate to deal with this alone.

I would say just give yourself a break and wait until tomorrow...but, on dh's base lots of people have ADO's or RDO's and that makes it hard to find the right people on Fridays.

You must be just : about all this happening at once... I wish I was there to help you, Mama. We could go knock some heads together!
