I am supposed to be sleeping as late as I want this morning, but I had to get out of bed and come hug and hold my baby because of a bad dream. I dreamt people were making fun of him, saying they didn't like him, because he was autistic. Laughing at him, rolling their eyes, etc.. I was so hurt and angry, and wished that they all would know the pain they inflicted one day. I was screaming at them. My baby was just oblivious, running around happily. Just typing this makes my stomach lurch with nausea. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
I wish I could just erase it from my brain. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hammer.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hammer">

I get them once in a while, the worst are when I ended up doing something that endangered DS <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">.

I've had almost nightly nightmares about Lily since she's come home. Mostly where I wake up and she's dead. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">

I sometimes have terrifying and upsetting dreams about my dc and it stays with me often for days or weeks. They are so real sometimes. So vivid and so real.<br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">

Oh hon, having dreams like that every night is not good. Your body must be so full of cortisol. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug"> I'm sorry you are going through that and I hope the nightmares end soon.

I know. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> I usually wake up from one and touch her to make sure her skin is still warm. I figure they'll eventually go away, but they're making all my muscles super tight. I'm going to try to squeeze in a visit to the chiro tomorrow.

I hate waking up from those kinds of dreams. It always takes me a while to feel ok and to really get that it was just a dream.<br><br>
Kathryn, I've had those dreams too. The post-traumatic stress can have a real impact. I hope you get some relief from the chiro.

You've really been through so much. I'm so sorry, hon. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">

I had one last night about Eli suddenly liking milk and drinking it like crazy and turning into nut child again.<br><br>
Granted, I'm down with the flu today so I dream like that when I am.
