My armpit started peeling (as if I had a sunburn) when I used Tom's deo for a few weeks. It didn't hurt or sting or really feel any different, it just peeled. Weird!

I like the crystal. I haven't tried Funk Butter, but a lot of mamas on here swear by it! Try searching both of those--there's lots of threads on both in Natural Home and Body Care!

Tom's of Maine worked quite well for me for a month or two, then it suddenly started stinging so badly, I would have to have a shower after putting it on to get it off.

I have stopped using it entirely and am not trying liquid rock with lavender. So far, I like it.

You could also just try washing with baking soda then patting dry.

Does anyone know if Funk Butter is carried in any stores? The shipping charges for getting it online from the manufacturer are too steep for me to risk trying it.

I have tried two types of Tom's of Maine deodorants and both made my armpits sting to the degree that I had to wash them thoroughly with soap and water...and even then the stinging lasted a while and I was left quite red.

I beleive that Tom's was purchased by Colgate-Palmolive...could that be the problem?
