I had my 10-week dating ultrasound as part of the nuchal translucency test today and there was no heartbeat. I'm 10w4d.

First she tried with the regular ultrasound thing and said that it was very far back, so she got out the vaginal one. I had been so geared up to see twins because I've been insanely hungry that I was so focused on trying to see two sacs before she could tell me that I hadn't been really looking for a heartbeat. But once she told me she needed the dildo-cam I knew that things weren't looking good.

With the vaginal thing she still had trouble getting a clear view, but she said that it looks like it all happened around 8 weeks.

Now I just have to wait to miscarry. I'll be seeing my fertility acupuncturist / doula tomorrow and she's going to do some needle stuff as well as give me some herbs to help get things moving. I definitely don't want to go the D&C route.

Anyone who has knowledge about how long you have to wait to try again and why you have to wait, please educate me.

I'll keep you all posted about how I do with the bringing about of a miscarriage, and I'll be watching you all and keeping an eye on how things go with all the babies of this DDC. It's been fun, and I hope to join another DDC soon!

I think it is up to you when you want to try again. I got pregnant just weeks after my m/c.

Sarah I am so sorry, it's a difficult journey and you'll be in my thoughts.

I got pregnant the cycle after my miscarriage. I don't think there is any reason to wait. Just don't have intercourse until the bleeding has stopped.

I found out on Friday my baby was gone. I am starting to bleed today. I'm debating about the D&C though, my Dr. is gone til tomorrow. I don't know what to do.

Personally, I've chosen to wait for a least one 'normal' cycle before trying again. That's just felt more right to me, but there aren't any hard or fast rules.

I hope you the process goes quickly and smoothly for you.

Most people I've heard recommend waiting one cycle to TTC for dating purposes.

My oldest DD was conceived two weeks after my first m/c (natural), and obviously that turned out well.

I just had a d&c this morning, and after miscarrying naturally at home, three times previously, I was very pleased with my experience today. I wish you the very best, whatever route you choose.
