Where's what I do:
1/2 cup navy beans, soaked and halfway cooked
Add to the water:
1/4 cup or so of molasses, I don't really measure
Big dash of sugar optional
Some ketchup or tomato paste
dash of ground mustard
salt and pepper
garlic and onion powders
Simmer, crockpot, or actually bake the rest of the way
Drain a little of the liquid into a bowl, whisk in a couple Tbs of flour to thicken the sauce and add it back in to the beans when the beans are cooked.
