Is anyone baking? If so what are you making or planning to make? I thought that might be something to keep me busy while I am torturing myself wanting to go into labor.

I am DYING to bake. I have GD so I've been unable to do my usual baking. I used to be a professional pastry chef and I still love this time of year! I have been making lots of plans for carb-indulgence once this baby is out though: sticky buns! That's first! I have lots of cake-plans too!

Well, I do bake all our breads, bagels, buns & crackers & such normally anyway but I'm not keeping up nearly was well as I should be. There's usually a whole supply of breads & muffins in the freezers but lately it's all I can do to bake a few loaves of bread a week. I'm just so tired & achey & lazy!

I want to make some Christmas goodies. I'll probably go over to FamilyFun.com & check out their fun Christmas cookie ideas. I love making crazy-silly cookies & cupcakes.

I cook most of our foods from scratch but I am getting lazier & lazier by the week. When I shopped last night I bought the makings for tacos & nachos & I bought white pasta. Crap I tell ya! But we won't all get tumors if we eat processed crap for only a few weeks, right? :

We have lots of family visiting in a few weeks. I really need a good stock of breads etc in the freezers! I really should get on that....

I LOVE to bake, but lately it's just been things like bread or breadsticks for supper. I've been gradually baking more and more Christmas cookies.
In fact, maybe I should bake some cookies today! I'm thinking sugar cookies with some yummy icing, in the shape of Christmas trees. I am way too easily tempted by sweets.

I try to make everything by scratch, too.

I made a TON of muffins last week for the freezer and breakfasts until baby is here. I made a bunch of bread (5 loaves) but it didn't turn out right. :

I made cookies last night, but, uh....they're almost gone.

I have the stuff to make a stollen, croissants, and a buche de noel and some other stuff. That's what I'm going to be working on whenever I have time just waiting for baby...

The remedy for this is to freeze the dough in balls.

I'm baking a pecan pie for DH today. It's his favorite and he didn't have any for Thanksgiving. I'm kinda grumpy: with him right now so I'm on MDC and procrastinating about the pie. I'll get to it soon though. He deserves it! :

Does anyone have a good recipe for m&m cookies? I had some before and they were small and poofy. I like them big and chewy.

I don't have a recipe for M&M cookies, but this is what I made tonight:

Banana bread:

4 overripe bananas, mashed
2 eggs
2 cups flour (I usually do one AP and one WW)
1 tsp baking soda
1 stick butter, softened/room temp
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt

Mix the flour, salt, and soda in one bowl.

Mash the bananas and add the eggs to another bowl.

Cream the butter and sugar in yet a third bowl, then add the bananas and eggs, then add the dry ingredients. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes, or til a toothpick comes out clean.

I have successfully added cocoa powder, cinnamon, and chocolate chips to this recipe (all on separate occasions, of course). I also want to try adding Just Strawberries (probably paired with a liquid sweetener to keep things moist).

Happy baking, and more importantly -- happy laboring soon!

Mmmmmmm I made banana bread a couple of weeks ago and it was SO good. On Friday I made 4 mini-loaves of pumpkin bread with dried cranberries and pecans - we froze two loaves and just finished up the last of the two we kept out. I can't believe they lasted almost 3 days!! I seriously had to hide the bread so I wouldn't eat it all myself.

We just had a baking day at my MIL's house. Her 2 daughters and me and our slew of children came, it was so much fun. We each brought 2 recipes and anything other than the basics that we needed for those recipes. I made Nutella cookies and Pignoli Nut cookes, my MIL made pecan tarts and my SIL made macaroons and some potato cookies that were super good. I also made some sugar cookies for the kids to decorate. It was fun and having a group of people made it a lot less work.

I made chocolate chip zucchini cake yesterday and it was divine. I might make it again next week and bring it to a fellow preggo's house so we can eat the entire thing and complain.

I just made x-mas cut out cookies the other day and of course there gone You don't chill the dough either (nor did I freeze xtra) so I don't have xtra to make. I would have to whip up a whole nother batch and that is just too much work. I stood on my feet for about 5 hours baking and it sure did take a lot out of me, but they sure were yummy I think I will make some muffins though. Reading all these posts are making me hungry for bread and muffins.

I've got the pantry stocked up for baking during labor, but other than that, I haven't really baked anything.

I think I am in the mood for an apple crumble of some sort, though. That would be yummy!

I ended up making the sugar cookies last night (Christmas cut-out cookies)... and ended up eating WAY too many before bed. Which probably explains why I had trouble falling asleep last night!
