After reading up on Ethylene I think I need to air my fridge out. My produce has had very SHORT lives of late.

Ugh! But, do you keep your bananas in the fridge? Don't you remember the Chiquita Banana song?

I am Chiquita Banana and I'm here to say
Bananas have to ripen in a certain way
something something something something something
So never keep bananaaaaaaaas in the refrigerator! Ba bum de bum!

I'm a chiquita banana and I'm here to say,
bananas have to ripen in a certain way.
When they are flecked with brown and have a golden hue,
bananas are the ripest and the -best for you.
You can put them in a salad, you can put them in a pie-I.
Any way you want to eat them, it's impossible to beat them.
But bananas like the climate of the very very tropical equator.
So never never put bananas, in the refrigerator. No no no no!

My mom used to sing this to us all the time, now she sings it to ds, he thinks it's hysterical. She does the Carmen Miranda dance with the bananas on her head. :LOL

LOL I don't think I ever listened to that song..

but no, I don't keep them in the fridge.

I do keep OTHER fresh fruits/veggies there though. and of late, my greens have been heading south practically before I can use them.
