Based on the rave reviews of the Very Baby Basic Nights I got a few from Debra since we had no good nighttime diapering system. I had good luck for a while, but lately they'd been wicking.

Last night was the final straw: DD, who is 7.5 months and going through so many changes [teeth, desire to crawl, need to stand] that she rolls around and doesn't sleep well. I felt like we had finally fallen into a deep sleep when a little complainy sound woke me up: she'd leaked. It took two more hours to get her back to sleep. DH, who sleeps in the other room with DS, heard me crying and came in. I shooed him off because why did the whole family need to be miserable? In any case, he took three precious hours off of work to stay home and take care of DS AND DD while I caught up on some sleep.

So, the above was just to get the horrible night off my chest. Does anybody else have hemp fleece that wicks? I would write to Debra, but she is unavailable for a few weeks, according to her website. We use sport wash, which I've had good luck with [same as Sensiclean]. I will, however, switch to ANYTHING that works in order to not have a wet and miserable baby who can't sleep in the middle of the night!

Was I right that people liked Basic Nights, or was it Simply Nights? What's the difference?
One sad and sleepless mama....

Arg! I just typed a reply and it got lost.. Here's a quick recap.
Basic nights are just as good as simply nights, basic nights are just fuller cut.
You are using a cover, right? I would first strip the night diapers, use them with an added doubler and use a full cut PUL cover with wool longies or shorties over There should be no leaking out of that.

Yes, cover in place, an aristocrats that got me through 1.5 or so years of nighttime diapering DS. I used to be better about lanolizing...but it isn't the cover's fault. Last night, the dipe was bone dry with a bit of wet at the aplix. That pee just slid on out!
I am presently stripping them, but I am a bit
: because I didn't think I'd have to regularly strip them.
