hi, not sure of a better forum for this, but i'm looking to buy (not make) a bat box for our inner-city house.

i would LOVE to buy one from a NFL oriented family who makes them at home, but cost is an issue. i'm wondering if anyone here has suggestions for me?

It's really strange seeing this here. My mom just finished writing an article for her local newspaper about bats and bat conservation. You might try checking with the bat conservation league to see what they might be able to tell you. I understand they have plans for making them on their website(I think it's batconservation.org, but I'm not sure). Not sure about people who make them at home. I'd think this would be the place to ask though

I know you can usually buy them at places like Lowes or Home Depot and sometimes even at Tractor Supply. You might also check with your local feed store. Sometimes they carry them or they might know of a regular customer who comes in that does.

I wonder why you would need a box for bats?

Bats find tiny little spaces on/in buildings already present, having boxes for them wont help bring them in. If bats want to be there they will find a cranny, or your attic to live in.
