Hi all,<br>
I set up a yahoo group for those who want to participate in the bead swap. If you are interested, pm me with your email address, full name and home address so I can send you an invitation to join the group. If you aren't set up on yahoo, all you need to do is go to the main page and create an acount. It is very easy and only takes a minute. I am going to be the host, so only I will have access to the names and addresses, if you are concerned about that. On 5/21, we will have the final count on who wants to participate and at that point we can buy beads and they can be shipped to me for distribution. I liked the idea from sept to include a little note with each bead as to who it is from, and if it has any special meaning or wishes or anything you like. Along with your beads, send a self addressed stamped envelope and as soon as I receive all of the beads, I will mail them out to everyone. The deadline for shipping the beads will be 6/30 and I will post plenty of reminders before then.<br>
The group page will act as communication for when people have shipped, when I have received, when I ship and when you all receive, to keep it off of MDC per the rules. I'm so excited about doing this!

<div style="font-style:italic;">There is just one little problem...Some of us are in Canada and a self addressed/ stamped envelope doesn't work...Suggestions?</div>

I know here in the US, you can get Canadian return postage for that sort of thing, at the post office. I imagine it works the other way around at post offices in Canada?

Once I get all of the beads I can take them to the post office with your postal code and let you know what it is going to be. Then you can send the money paypal. I can do that for anyone outside of the US.

Before you get all the beads, how will we know how much postage we need?<br><br>
Also, from experience, a regular envelope doesn't cut it for beads. It needs to be a padded envelope at least. Tevlar with tissue paper would work too.

I messaged another host of a bead swap to see how it worked out for them and will get back to you on that as soon as I have an answer for you.

This is what they did for June:<br>
"I would suggest having everyone send a prepaid flat rate shipping label or stamp for $4.05. They have all the flat rate envelopes at the post office---you can get what you need there for free. I just stopped in and took the amt we needed for our swap. Some of the mamas sent these stamps or labels, some sent self addressed stamped envelopes, some sent $ for shipping. I went home and filled the envelopes with the beads, addressed them all and brought them to the post office."<br>
It sounds easy enough to me. What do you think?
