I just got sick, and I don't even know where I got it from!
I feel HORRIBLE. I hurt all over, I can't breathe, I keep having nightmares and I can't sleep. I have't been sick in years! Really, YEARS! Why when I'm hugely pregnant, home alone AND have a crazy 3 year old to look after?!

Oh man, that's awful! Do you have ANYONE you can call to come over and help out some? Or just pick up the three-year-old for a while? Hope you get feeling better SOON!

No.

Just my mom, who lives in the suite downstairs. But she's disabled and can only do so much to help. I feel so bad asking her to sit my DD because she's a REALLY spirited kid.

I'm so sorry! That really is AWFUL. I hope you feel better soon. Is it maybe time to bring out a DVD for the 3 year old so you can get some rest? Maybe your mom could do that so you can get some peace and quiet?

Oh girl, I agree, there is nothing worse then that!! Well, just about anyway. When does your DH/DP come home...soon hopefully!! Try not to do to much. Let everything else go and just focus on healing and your dd. If she's anything like my #3 girl videos do little good, she'll watch for 5 min and then she's off!! At least its 5 min's though!! What about music?? I find that when I keep a more constant flow of kid oriented music on that they'll stay focused and playing longer. Might help.

Hope your feeling better soon!!

Ohmama! I did this with my last pregnancy .I got the FLU at 33 weeks pregnant, then bronchitis, and pulled a chest muscle from all the coughing. The goo d part was that I wasn't pregnancy miserable, and so even though I wen tlate, I didn't mind as much.

REst, hydrate, rest. I bought 4 new movies for my kids when I got the flu. I coulnd't even get up to turn a new one on. We watched the same movie all day long. rEally.

I'm just getting over the hump of it now and starting to feel better.
:

DH works night shifts and my mom is disabled so it REALLY sucks being sick with my three year old!! DH left me his tip money that week for pizza the first night, but after that I had to cook. I'm a terrible cook when I'm not sick, so I was pretty bad this time.

Glad to hear things are looking up, Babs. Hang in there and hopefully all will be very better soon. I agree that looking after a child and being sick yourself has to be one of the hardest things ever. But again, I'd rather be sick than have my child be sick. My DD has had the stomach flu a couple of times (rarely colds, but for some reason the stomach flu seems to like her) and I think each time that I would rather have it be me.

Don't worry about making "good" dinners. A while ago we had blueberry pancakes for dinner because that was all I could handle making. These are DDs favorite thing in the world so she was quite happy even if I was feeling like a pretty lame mama.

Sending you happy, healthy thoughts!
