I have adult onset acne and I'm so sick of it. I think I have tried every OTC thing there is on the market and nothing works. I'm currently using TTO and that seems to be doing better than anything else but I need more. The derm I went to was an idiot, the stuff he gave me didn't do anything and he tried to tell me that in no way was my acne related to anything that I ate or drank. I know this isn't true as I had mono and couldn't eat or drink for a week and my face cleared up beautifully. Unfortunately it all came back as soon as I started eating, even though I cut out all sweets, soda and such.

So any suggestions will be tried, if I haven't tried them already lol.

well, it involves over the counter medication..

I bought my daughter the book called "The acne cure".

It outlines exactly which OTC meds to use and when, and in what order. It also says to rub an ice cube over the zits every evening.

It worked really well for my daughter until this summer, when she quit following the program out of lazyness.

Have you tried cutting out dairy? Do you drink alot of water? I use straight lavendar eo or tto on blemishes, clears them up in a coupke of days, although i do not have full blown acne- I used to have it pretty bad though.

Also, I credit my fairly good skin with only using natural soap and no chemicals whatsever. I swear when I stopped eating dairy, many of myt skin problems were solved.

hth ~ good luck

Tea tree oil would work due to its antibacterial components...problem is you can get bacterial resistance over time (killing off the weak stuff...same problem I have with antiobiotic creams for the skin). http://www.news-medical.net/?id=21941 That is just the first link when I googled. I guess I'm thinking TTO daily might be a bad idea.

I don't have a good one, though.

Ok, I know this may not be popular on this site, but.... Proactiv really helped me. The cleanser will bleach your towels and pillowcases, And in my experience the toner is not necessary. It's the repairing lotion that does the trick. I use it once a day, not 3, with all natural cleanser, toner and moisturizer. They sell it now as separates, sometimes even in malls. In my opinion, acne is so hard on the self esteem, that it is worth making the compromise to use less than a perfectly natural routine. Good luck.

I bought a few weeks ago a book called: Your last acne solution by Leo Kiesen. It's a great program...my cousin tried it, because he had severe acne and after one week and 2 days he got rid of it. I have mild/moderate acne, but I can't use this diet, because I am a tennis player and I can't go on a diet like the one in Leo's book. So this book, which I also have in pdf format is definetely for the people with very bad acne...probably it's also good for the others...but i can't try it.
But I also found the perfect book for me, which is actually an ebook, which can be bought on the internet if you have paypal acount or a credit card, but I can't buy it, because my parents won't let me. After the last book I bought, they don't want to give me money.
So if someone can buy it here is the link:

This book sounds great..I found out some information from it and it helped me so much.

If you'll send it to me, I'll send you "Your last acne solution" or other ebooks I have bought over the years. You can contact me at my email adress: [email protected]

Dairy always makes my skin flare up too. Also, I wipe my face down with Alba organics toner twice a day to keep the surface a little cleaner. My son thinks it is fun to touch all the spots on my face and aggrivate the zits. Plus drink tons of water that always helps.

Proactiv worked for me too - but I buy an off-brand one and it works just as well and is MUCH less expensive. There are two or three off-brands of it in the skin care section at the Meijer next to me.

Good luck! I know how hard that is.

I use a knock off brand too and it works.
Eliminating dairy has made a huge difference as well.

Hmmmm that's very interesting as I've become lactose intolerant so I've stopped having dairy as well. I never connected the two.

I'm very sensitive to animal hormones in milk and fatty meats. I drink soy and lay off any animal fats and it helps my acne.

I've tried several face washes that only seemed to make my acne worse, or clear it up and make my face dry and only work for a little while. So, I've started putting honey all over my face before my shower, then I wash it off at the end. It really seems to help. I have NO idea why.

The only wash that ever helped was Nutrogena clean and clear. Honey is working better for me though and it's cheaper.
