Best dairy-free probiotics?

1357 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  mom61508
DD has bh issues when she ingests dairy. I read that the dairy in probiotics was so minimal that it shouldn't cause problems, but I've seen a marked change since starting this past Monday.

What is a good probiotic cultured in something besides dairy?

Klaire labs---any they handle will be dairy free and very good. http://www.protherainc.com/

You need a doctor's name to order. We use Dr. McCandless...her book gives permission for anyone to use her name to order. This is the book. http://www.amazon.com/Children-Starv.../dp/188364710X

I have been trying to order these for DD lol. It says you need a code? Do you have to use a code?

I just started using the Klaire Labs infant probiotic for dd last weekend and it has already made a world of difference for her. She is quite sensitive to dairy - had bloody mucous in her poop from a quarter teaspoon of butter - and she has been fine with these. She won't drink water kefir but she loves kimchi and sauerkraut!

mom61508 - I bought mine at a local hfs that has an ND practice, you may be able to find it at a local chiro office, too.

Call them (go to the prothera website to get the number...you're ordering through them rather than Klaire labs) and when they ask for the doctors name (or code..I think they ask for doctor name) you can use Dr. McCandless. You could also call them and ask for a doctor recomemndation in your area. But that book I linked gives permission to use her name and I asked when I called and they said it was fine. I was ordering with a code from our doctor here but McCandless gives a discount too.

They are dairy (and all major allergens) free.
