Which dishwasher detergent works best? We are getting lots of spot on the dishes and not everything is coming out clean.

i read that you can add vinegar to your rinse compartment to help soften your water to avoid those spots.

we have hard water too and i have not yet try that but i am going to as soon as my rinse aid is gone.

i just add the vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before starting it. i don't even bother with the rinse aid compartment and it seems to work great. pretty much any dishwasher soap will work for me now.

I just pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher before each load. I'm not sure that the rinse aid container would release enough vinegar typically, as rinse aid is super-concentrated. Anyhow, we have really hard water and the dishwasher installer-man recommended the vinegar in the dishwasher and it seems to work well for us.

We have hard water and use Ecover. We love it....well, maybe I love it because DH could probably care less.
