Hi All! Ready to plunge into my first diaper sewing adventure... (though I've been sewing and quilitng since I was seven). I've read back a months worth of posts and don't see the answer but I know you are the ladies to help me!

I want to make a PUL outer/fleece inner pocket diaper. While I could copy one of the pockets I own (FB, HH, Mother's Touch, SB) I'd rather start with an actual pattern.

What do you think is the best pattern for a PUL pocket?

And, if you can say, which of the manufactured brands is the pattern most similar to in fit (for instance, if Honeyboy fits like a Happy Heiny or whatever)?

Thanks so much for helping a newbie!

I'm not sure I'm a ton of help.... but I've tried and had great success with the Very Baby AIO pattern. ... "But, I'm asking for a pocket pattern!" you say... well, there are some great supplementary instructions at http://www.sewdiapers.com that show how to convert your AIO pattern to a pocket -- in two different styles!! (oh, and the pattern can be purchased at http://www.diapershop.com )

The even more fun part is that you can make two different styles of pockets. I think if you put the opening in the back they look the most like Happy Heinys, but since I've never tried one, I'm not sure what the fit really is like!!

I've heard good things about the Darling Diapers patterns. You shouldn't have a problem. I had never sewed anything when I started making diapers and I found them suprisingly easy.

I have made up some of the wee weeka ones,I cannot say if they are good,as my baby isnot yet born, but mypocket loving friend, who Cd's twins has given them the once over and she is dead impressed!!!
In fact she wants me to make some for her babies!!!(should fund more fabric purchases anyhow!!!)
The great thing is it's a freebie pattern, and it has gussets, which I really like for newborns.

Thanks for the opinions!
Oh yes, I did forget to say that I saw the supplementary instructions for the Very Baby and it looks quite straightforward. Especially after I bought some Happy Heinys. I looked at those, turned them inside out, and thought "I could do this!"
Anyone else have suggestions about pattern fit?

I would get the Darling Diaper pattern, either the AIO or fitted pocket. I have made AIO pockets with the fitted pockets, and pockets out of the AIO pattern. Great patterns, cheap, and emailed to you almost instantly!
