My dd is 3 and currently rides behind the passenger seat. I have another baby due in august and i'm wondering where i should put the carseat. should i move my dd behind the driver seat and put the new baby behind the passenger seat so that when i turn around i can see her? or should i just put the new baby behind my seat? i don't think my dd would be happy behind my seat because she likes to look out the front of the car. but i'm thinking i sould move her seat so she can climb in, then i can snap the baby in and then go around to the other side to buckle her in. wdyt?

when ds2 used the baby bucket, we had that in the center and ds1 behind the passenger seat. now that they're both big, ds1 is behind the driver and ds2 is behind the passenger seat. we'll be putting the baby bucket in the center. the boys can climb into their seats now so I like putting them on the outsides. (we have a Trailblazer, fwiw)

I have my younger rfing behind the passenger seat mostly because that way the driver seat can be moved back far enough for my dh to drive. My older child is behind the driver. I tried putting one of them in the middle, but they would pick on each other on long rides and it was really annoying and distracting!

It doesn't really matter as far as safety is concerned, just do what's convenient for you. Pick a way you think will be best but know that you can change it any time it's not working.

Currently, my DD (age 4, FF) is behind the driver seat and DS (age 1, obviously RFing) is behind the passenger. I did this initially because it took me longer to get DS in his seat and if I parked on the street, I wanted to be able to stand on the curb to deal with it. Now that DD is in school, I'm out and about with DS alone more often and find it inconvenient to walk around the car each and every time. So now I'm thinking of switching them so DS is on my side, though I admit that after a year I'm likely to keep things the way they are so I don't keep confusing myself.
