I don't know how it stacks up to the other recommended sites, but I have been happy with felicite.com

There are vendors that associate with them (a pretty hefty selection of places to pick out cloth diapers, organic clothing etc.) but you can add items from any website.

I also use felicite.com. It is very easy to use, and allows for folks to call at 1-800 number if they don't have internet access. Haven't had the first shower yet, so I don't know how well folks will respond to only being able to purchase online. I am fearful of getting a bunch of stuff we don't want...plastics and disposable diapers...just because we're not registered at Target and Babies R Us, but I refuse to register at either of those places. Anyone else have experience with an online registry?

felicite charges ungodly fees.

I used thethingsiwant.com and had no problems. Everyone that used it to buy us gifts commented about how cool it was.

I used felicite for my wedding registry and hated it for the fees they charge...

This is the first I've heard about that! Can you tell me more? Darnit, I thought I did a really thorough job of exploring the way they work, since I was awfully hesitant at first.

unless something has changed, felicite charges the gift giver a 4.9% service charge.

No fees on thethingsiwant.com right now. My guess is that they are eventually going to charge something....otherwise, what are they gaining by offering the service? know what I mean??

I loved using that site. I liked how you could put pics, etc.

If you wanna see my registry, the best way is to search by name and search for "Beth Williams." Mine is the one in Texas (not Massachusetts). I researched the hell out of every product and am pleased with what I got....

I think its lame that the baby registry is searching by baby name as not all baby's have a name before they are born!!
but you can search by name and find it with the parents name so its all good.

I did write to them and tell them that you should be able to enter BOTH parents name, as my husband's coworkers may look for his name and not mine.... know what i mean?

From what I can tell from the site this is only for CASH GIFTS, not when gift givers buy something off your list from a merchant. It says they get their fees from the merchants themselves, rather than gift givers (again, unless it is a cash gift, since in that situation there is no merchant to charge). Please let me know if my info on this is wrong, since I have been using felicite.com and have been quite pleased with it.

this may be true. we mostly had people put money towards something like an iMac. so ours may have been set up the cash way (I got married almost 4 years ago so I dont know).

Regardless I like thethingsiwant.com better anyhow. the registry looks so cool with the pics and all that, and its SO EASY. the merchant doesnt get charged by thethingsiwant either, which is nice. esp. if you are giving more natural businesses a go. save them the loss of revenue, kwim?

also, if I remember correctly, people were charged if they were giving money toward a bigger gift.

i.e. giving $20 toward $250 rollerblades. so they must consider that a "cash gift"??

Beth- thanks for sharing your registry! I love the pictures at thingsIwant.com. I will definitely go with that one.
