I would like to find a sling for warmer climates. I have a now 18 month old and we will be going to Hawaii in May. We will be using the bus system for part of our trip as well as a rental car. Anyways I specifically want one for bus rides and whenever else is needed as we're touring the Island

I have a pea in a pod pouch in XS/Small that my son adores & I adore! It is my absolute fave by far! He loves to ride on my back too. I just am wondering what warmer climate mamas do for slinging. Do you get sweaty?

OH Are there slings you can use in the water and out of the water too
Any recommendations are great!

Thanks so much

Are you looking for a ring sling or a pouch? There are lots of solarveil ring slings out there that can be worn at the beach or the pool. Here are a couple

For overall hot weather use, I would recommend a cotton sling, like a maya or cotton zolo, or any unpadded cotton ring sling.

For a pouch, the hotsling stretch cotton is good and not too hot, and I think Kristen used to make solarveil pouches as well. Here is the link to her site. www.fussybutt.com also has a solarveil pouch.

we use a light cotton mei tai in San Diego - about 90 degrees here in the summer and 80 in the winter, There are some mammas, I think, that make mesh slings and carriers, but I am not sure who they are. That might be an option for you.

I love my white Solarveil sling. I have used it in the pool, for showers (great for camping), and even wore it to a wedding (with a nice dress). Its very lightweight. I have used it to drape over the stroller to keep the sun out as well. I have put my napping 20 month old on my back (while pregnant, too!) and walked the beach in Florida. It worked. : )

I think you would get a lot of use of it in Hawaii. : ) Have fun!

Another idea is a gauze wrap.... so pretty and versatile and more comfy for back carries:

Wow thanks for all the help

I am looking for a pouch type sling with no rings
Off to research the links & info you provided

And now I'm wondering if I should just take my pea in a pod pouch with me. I will definitely be researching the others still b/c I like the idea of wearing Luke in the ocean and such
