I am not currently pregnant, I don't think, but it is looking like we may try before Samantha is old enough to walk on her own. I find strollers the most cumbersome thing to try and use, so I want to stick with a carrier. What is easiest on your back and abdomen when pregnant? I can see where a back carrier would be easier then my Maya Wrap, but which one?

I am 8 months pg and can carry my DS in the hip carry with my OTSBH, so your Maya may work. (I just have to get him high enough and wrap his legs around the top of my belly. However, I sling him for shorter trips, not hours at a time.)

What about a Kozy? You could use it for your toddler and the new baby. www.kozycarrier.com

I was thinking the Kozy but I wanted to see if I was missing something better that someone else knew of.
I use the sling for an hour or more at a pop frequently so I realy would like something that distributes the weight a little more evenly then my Maya Wrap. I already have a Trekker but it is just ackward to use with all the padding and impossible to get on my back alone.

So, your belly does not get in the way with a hip carry? I might be able to use my Maya for short trips then.

i am due any day now... huge belly... and i have been using a freehand carrier (mei tai) with my two year old daughter and it has been really easy. since most of the pressure is on my hips and shoulders, the waist straps can be tied really comfortably under my belly. one of those sites... either the kozy or another mei tai carrier... has a picture of a preggo woman with a baby on her back.

Personally, with my up and down girl and my extreme expansion (50+ lbs) I like a ring sling best at 9 months pregnant. She likes to snuggle up on my hip. I have an Ellaroo and several Mei Tais ans they are all fine and dandy except that she wants down almost as soon as I put her in...

Here are some pics of preggo me with different slings:

http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kri...=/914b&.src=ph
