We live in Amherst and are thinking about switching CSA's. Last years crop was low and the pickup season doesn't start til the fall, which means we miss some good stuff. That said, we can do half shares and it is only about $300, which keeps it in our budget. Do you love your CSA? Is it affordable. Do tell.....

I have heard really good things about <a href="http://www.brookfieldfarm.org/" target="_blank">Brookfield Farm</a> in Amherst.

I adore our CSA!<br><br>
It's the Three Sisters Farm in Montague (<a href="http:" target="_blank">http://www.threesistersfarm.com)</a>. About 20 minutes north of Amherst and right near the Book Mill.<br><br>
We have a half share and it is a really generous amount of food - much more than the half shares at our old giant CSA in Hadley. Also, the farm is small, with basically one farmer, so you really get to know the guy who grows your food. This will be our second summer with Three Sisters and I think there are going to be work days, pick your own flowers, potlucks, etc. I am so excited just writing about it!!<br><br>
Our neighbors use Brookfield Farm and love it.<br>
Many (many many) people we know use Natural Roots in Conway - I think that the actual share pick-up experience is fantastic there, with a swimming hole and tons of kids, but no way would I drive out to Conway to get my vegetables every week.<br><br>
Good luck!

Recent storm weakened the bridge that Natural Roots uses to access their fields. I don't know if they will have a growing season this year...they 're trying to raise money to repair the bridge.
