Can this be done at all? I would fast if I could but I know that is outta the question.
SO.... what can I safely do? I feel toxic, heavy, and clogged-up.
Any herbal gentle liver-type detox safe at this time? I really need to do something...
I can't find any info on it as a whole, but you could look up each herb listed and see which are safe or not that are a part of the detox:

http://www.kellymom.com/herbal/index.html

As far as the things that would be released into your system as a part of the detox, I don't know - that kind of scares me - don't know if it might get into the milk or if the body just excretes it?? I'm no expert here, but I hope the above link helps you find out if the components of your detox program are safe or not.

it is my understanding that cascara sagrada is too strong to use with breastfeeding, so that makes it hard to do a full psyllium cleanse...but as for liver detox... "In the past, milk thistle products have been used to stimulate the flow of breast milk in women who were breast-feeding infants. It was also a folk remedy for depression. Its leaves, roots, and stems have been eaten as a vegetable in some parts of the world, and its seeds may be toasted and boiled into a coffee-type beverage." (http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/DVH/Her...histle,00.html) there is some more info there relating to the estrogenic effects of milk thistle...but it seems like its probably safe. I'd call an herbalist or midwife just to double check, but I'd take it....

Thanks-
I talked to a friend who teaches at a local holistic midwifery school and she thinks that anything detoxing out of me into my bloodstream is going to pass into my milk in some level or other.
She suggested I do an intuitive-type cleanse/a vibrational cleanse meaning at night when all is quiet I should picture my liver and kidneys detoxing and becoming pure.
I quess this is all i can do for now

You can drink lots and lots of water, which is cleansing, but on a more gentle level. Any toxins stored in your fat cells (like dioxins, etc) will be released into your breastmilk, so you want to stay away from more stringent detox methods.
