Bfing and Ultrasound

My son is 19 months old and needs to have an abdominal ultrasound. The person making the appointment told me that he cannot have any food or drink after midnight, that includes breastfeeding. Has anyone else gone through this? He still night nurses at night, she said he can have a 1 am nurse but not after that. Is that normal? And if so does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with ds through the night? He has an 8:45am appointment which is the earliest.

Thank you

when my son had hernia surgery, I think it was 3-4 hours since breastmilk is considered a clear liquid...7-8 hours seems like a long time, I would think 4-5 tops but I don't know your situation.
Thanks. That's what I thought. I called our ped today and she said I could nurse him in the early am - ds usually wakes around 3am. She said to give him that feeding and then hold off until after the ultrasound. That works alot better for us. We are having him checked for a hernia. We are not sure what this bulge is in his abdomen because it is not in the usual hernia spot. Thanks again for your input.
