Hello everyone! I've recently decided to look into becoming a CBE, and I think I'd like to go with BFW training. I took BFW classes/read the book during my pregnancy, was attended by a BFW doula, and I just really like their philosophy and take on things. Anyway, I would like to attend one of their Intro workshops this spring and I was wondering if anyone has done so with a nursling in tow? My babe will be about 7.5 months at the time of the workshop. They say that you can nurse during breaks and meals, and my DH would be able to be with her the rest of the time. If you have attended one of these workshops, do you feel that there would be enough time during breaks to nurse?

Thanks in advance!

It depends on your baby. If your baby is okay with going 3 - 4 hours between nursings and is a fairly efficient nurser, it would be fine. If your baby needs to nurse more frequently and likes to lie about for an hour or so every time it could be more challenging. Also, you won't have much time to do anything else.

I went to my Level 1 last spring when my DS2 was almost 2, so he was totally fine with the schedule. He was always a pretty laid back, efficient nurser, anyway. And he had dad and his big brother to play with the whole time!

It would NOT have worked for me when DS1 was 7.5 months old. He still nursed about every hour to hour and a half at that point, for up to 40 minutes at a time. But he was definitely all the way at the extreme of the normal nursling spectrum!

I too am thinking about this. I have signed up for the January 30th workshop. DS will be 11 months old at the time. DH is going to come along to take care of him. I will also bring my pump and some milk. I've got my fingers crossed. I think it will go okay though because of his age.
