Are there any other large busted ladies out there that find it difficult to adjust baby carriers around your baby's food supply? I either find that my ds is too low in the sling if he is below my breasts and he makes all sorts of noises which indicates to me that he is having difficulty breathing, or he is against my breast and totally squishing it and forcing it to sag more than it is already.

Suggestions? Commiserations?

As an additional note, we have three different size hotslings, which I like, and a maya wrap which I found difficult to adjust without endangering ds's head

yes, my big breasted sister...i feel your pain.
my issue is more with bfing in a carrier...my boobs are so big i suffocate ds...i have tried pouches, ringslings, my wrap, my ergo...nothing works.ds cries because its just too much boobie in his face. plus he doesn't like to nurse sitting upright, and he is WAY to big for cradle in any of those carriers. i am getting a rebozo soon and wondering if that might work. i'll let you know.
also i HATE the way my ergo straps smash down my sideboob...so unattractive. hey ergo lady, if you read this, any tips for that?

i don't have answers for you, only commiseration!

I like Mei tais and wraps the best.

I have just about given up on BFing in a carrier. I'm going to try it for the umpteenth time when baby #3 comes in October, but we'll see how it goes.

I cant get a pouch to sit right on me to save my life. My DD used to scream bloody murder if I tried to put her in it because her spot would be all bumpy and stuff cuz of how my boobs fit under it. Of course, she was just peachy when my DH held her. He's bigger than me, which is how I figured out that it was my lumpyness and not my size that was the issue.

I wear a wrap. I have never been able to nurse in any of my carriers so I usually just use part of it to cover DD and we're fine.

I tried to wear DD on my back with a MT and my breasts looked totally deformed. OK around the house, not in public.

My problem is not the boob in the face because I've "mastered" that...my problem is the 1/2 boob flop that's caused by my sling cutting one of my boobs in half. It never fails, the shoulder my sling rests on (opposite shoulder from DD)...well let's just say where the sling crosses my chest, it also crosses the girls. And cuts them in half/smooshes them into a downward-facing-dog, touch-my-belt-buckle position. Boy do I feel attractive. So I try to pull the thing down to cover my 1/2 boob and it basically flattens it to the point where my milk ducts run for cover and I immediately let down. And now it looks like I have a GIANT 3 Foot uniboob with arms/legs/hair sticking out from my body...thank you DD!! with a giant wet spot over my chest...*sigh*

I've nursed ONE (count 'em) ONE time in the sling and only after SO MANY TRIES, I finally gave up and literally LIFTED my boob, pushed/pulled DD into SOME strange contortion and held the nipple up to her face while I was walking at the Fort Worth Zoo (to get back to our car in overflow parking).

We just got an ergo because I have read such good things about it. It is OK so far, but since ds is in the infant insert, I am afraid he will suffocate on my boobs now! I did BF him for a short while, but I had to hold the boob the entire time so he could eat. At least it has a 90 day money back guarantee. We will give it a few more tried
I would try the beco too, but it is even more $$$ than the ergo

for nursing I think a mei tai is best. I lower dd a bit by loosening the straps, then use the hand on the same side to hold up that breast for her. I have to hold it the whole time she nurses but it's usually pretty quick. then I can just tighten it back up when she's done.
