Anybody read this? 50% chance bird flu can be contracted from human to human. Any thoughts?

http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/AvianFlu/story?id=1724801

I don't buy it. Just Big Pharma priming the Sheeple into the "Bird Flu" frenzy. I'll sit back in my LazyBoy and watch the sheeple stampede grandma at the Walgreens vax clinic on TV.

A bold statement. But not surprising considering the "seed strain" of virus used to make an H5N1 vaccine now in human trials in the United States was made at St. Jude's vaccine plant and the trial is being conducted by St. Jude's.

Even so, it could be a mild strain. One never knows.

Here's one of many 2003 articles regarding St. Jude's development of an H5N1 vaccine:
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0404072206.htm

And by the way, it appears from what I've been reading about Dr. Webster in the past 20 minutes . . . he's the unofficial bird flu pandemic scaremongering spokesperson.

Ya know what? I was terrified about this whole bird flu thing until I spoke with my aunt and uncle. They live in way downstate Illinois in the corn fields. They have NEVER once heard about the bird flu until I brought it up. Their news broadcast NEVER mentioned it. Sooooo.... that leads me to believe that it is just the media trying to scare the people who live in large cities (I live just outside Chicago) and trying to produce mass panic.

I don't put too much energy into worrying about the bird flu anymore
Thank you for the reassuring thoughts. I appreciate it. And it is amazing what the media can do! UGH! My parents had us vaccinated and so were shocked when they learned that we dont vaccinate our children. But they are fine with it, but still dont agree with it. Oh well. ANyway, they keep reminding me of the bird flu and saying that it is very important that she gets one of the first shots of vaccinations that come out since she is not covered to begin with.... whatever... so thank you for the reassuring thoughts...

Every year there's always some reason why everyone HAS to get a flu vax. This year's flu vax season wasn't enough for the big pHARMa so they've decided to see if they can scare anyone else.

From an AP article today, which should put things in perspective:

Bird flu hit North Korea last year, forcing the impoverished country to slaughter about 210,000 chickens and other poultry. Last April, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization said the outbreak was successfully contained. No new cases of bird flu have since been reported.

Yeah I don't buy into it either, my mom however just today had a talk with me about it. She didn't say anything about vaccinating but she did say "experts say...blah, blah, blah there is a huge chance of it being transferred to humans and a possible 50% death rate so they are saying make sure you have atleast a months worth of food in your house because in the case of an outbreak you can't leave your home to go to the store. " I was just like "eh, I'm not worried about that ever happening... but we'll survive on whatever food we have"

Um, actually, 100% of the population is going to die- isn't that why we're called MORTALS?????? Probably not from "bird flu" but, barring a great Miracle and change of the order of nature, we're all gonna die of something.
