We are pleased to launch the Greater Boston chapter of BirthNetwork
in November!

BirthNetwork is a national nonprofit whose mission is to promote the
awareness and availability of mother-friendly maternity care.

WE BELIEVE...

* Birth is a normal, healthy process, not an illness or disease.

* Empowering births can take place in birth centers, hospitals and
* Women are entitled to complete and accurate information on their
full range of options for pregnancy, birth, post-partum and
* Women have a right to make health care decisions for themselves and
their babies. That right includes Informed Consent as well as
Informed Refusal.

Free monthly meetings will cover a variety of topics relevant to
pregnancy, given by our area's vast resources of maternal health
Upcoming topics include:

NOVEMBER 5, 2008 –
Whose Birth is it Anyway?
Your Right of Informed Consent and Refusal in Maternity Care

All of our meetings will take place at the Jewish Family and
Children's Service offices in Waltham on the first Wednesday of the
month from 7 to 8:45pm. Meetings are free and all are welcome!

We hope you will forward this to all pregnant women and childbirth
professionals in your contact list.
