I had a link but have since lost it! its in the birth stories forum...I rewrote it cuz i didn't like the other one it seemed really vague and didn't really say anything important. its called Jacob Thomas-Great Hospital Birth after a Traumatic one! also there's a link in it to Caleb's horrible hospital birth (different hospital!) so you can tell how truly wonderful my ds#2's birth really was.

Jacob is doing great he's 6 days old now and on this (his parents wedding anniversary : is busily sleeping for the first time ever in the basinette. usually he naps on me and we sleep together in my bed we had some latch issues which I have been working with him on and he's such a pro at nursing. we have managed ALL KINDS of positions i never managed with Caleb. but then Caleb started out a lot bigger. and since I do have caleb now i'm used to holding a lot more weight. for instance...i CAN nurse without the boppy...with Caleb that was never possible.

Caleb is doing okay...he doesn't like that mommy's attention is divided but i've made sure if he wants a cuddle to be available. we've had some cuddles with the three of us and it was lovely. How did i ever survive without both of my boys? would i redo the last year and NOT marry Roland? probably not...as awful as it was and how immature he is it was TOTALLY worth it to have Jacob.

Roland showed up about an hour after Jacob was born and held him for awhile...he grumbled about *no one calling him sooner* until I flatly told him that he had NO RIGHT to expect to be there when he was born after the way he has treated me and he stopped. He was up at the hospital the two days i was in there...sometimes Caleb was there too but he didn't seem to care...all he did was hold Jacob and coo at him "oh daddy's got ya...daddy loves ya" I am happy to say I managed to keep from crying for Caleb (who didn't understand why *daddy* wasn't spending time with him...and worse...didn't seem to care much ) and i also managed to keep from going off on him and hitting him and yelling at him. I have discovered i have major anger issues. it just bothers me when he says "daddy loves you" to them...b/cuz to me actions speak louder than words and his actions say "you are an inconvenience...i like you as long as you don't interfere with my life" not "i love you" don't worry girls...I NEVER tell either of them that their daddy doesn't *really* love them. as long as he's willing to say it I will let them hear it. whether i think its true or not.

He did take us to Caleb's 15m appt on monday and ended up holding Jacob the entire time almost. he's taken to asking me if he's *really* eating b/cuz he'd like to hold him : I told him if he was latched on he was nursing and if he was taking food in that's fine too but i'm NOT going to willingly unlatch my lil comfort nurser...Caleb NEVER comfort nursed and i missed it. oh yeah he hasn't been back since. claims he's too busy working. but he has to catch up on his bills that's why he can't help me out.

so that's my update

PS my 6wk pp appt is Aug 17 so I'm hoping to be able to go back to work the following monday or even better the next day.
