I'm concerned about using a birthing pool because we mostly have hardwood floors and a bit of carpet - and the kitchen (linoleum) isn't an option.

For those of you who have used one, how did you protect your floors? Or was it not even an issue?

Lay down a vinyl table cloth (felt side up) or a shower curtain liner and then put the pool on top of that. Keep towels on the floor beside the pool for when you get out of the pool. Otherwise, its not going to be an issue.

I had a plastic sheet on the floor under my pool and my floors are wooden. No dramas! Wooden floors are easier to clean than carpet

We had a tarp under it, but it was not an issue. No leaks or overflows.

We used a tarp under ours last time. You could put a comforter under it if you wanted absorbancy (with the tarp under the comforter) and a bit of padding.
