OK- we had planned on getting this :https://www.birthpoolinabox.co.uk/
The thing is, Tesco's have a kid's paddling pool in for a lot, lot less- 50 cm high, 160cm one way, 220 cm the other (it's kind of hour-glass shaped.) Is this too big? Shall I keep looking?
I'm not due until November, so I have plenty of time to find something...

Looking for a deep birth pool, that can be easily assembled. Would love for it to be heated or some suggestions to keep the water warm. large padded sides and padded floor for comfort. Being able to see down in the water is important too, I want this on video. I live in Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas. I have done searches but havn't turned up much useful info that serves my area.
Help!

I'm interested in keeping the water warm too--how do you do it? The more I think about it, the more I am wondering if my big tub won't be the best b/c there wouldn't be room for both DH and MW in there. But february--brrrrr!!!

sleepymama: I did a back search on the homebirth board about birth pools and there was some good info. Many moms used thier tub for laboring and then a cheap fishy pool for the actual birth so that dad could be in the water too if he wanted that way it was easier to make sure the water was warm in the fishy pool. There is always the dump and resupply warm watter tactic but that can be time consuming. Many suggested using one of those foil blankets or a heavy quilt over the pool to help keep in heat when you are out of it. Go look it was some really good information.

We sell 2 different pools on our website www.preciousarrows.com and also a water birth kit!

As far as keeping the water warm what I have found to be the best thing is having a couple large stock pots sitting on the stove and dumping them (hot) into the water. You would be amazed at what a few of these will do and how long the water will stay warm. I am a long laborer and stay in the water for quite a while and this has worked really well.
