My 15 1/2 month old ds bites. He does it when he is excited and he does it when he is mad. I see it as a way of expressing his emotions (he's not talking yet). He seems to bite dh more, and dh has more of a problem with it than I do. He ends up with welts on his shoulders and chest. )Ds has all his front teeth and first year molars.)

So, is this something that toddlers grow out of or should I really be enforcing a more positive behavior/ demonstrating a more positive way of expressing emotion. And how should I do that?

Does anyone know why toddlers bite?

My dd has also turned into a biter. I also need advice how to stop this behavior. What is really upsetting me is that she thinks it's funny!
