Has anyone had a gush of watery, bright (almost orange!) bleeding at 13 weeks?! I soaked a pad in 20 minutes, was so upset, thought for sure I was miscarrying, cried all the way to the emergency room last night (it was 11pm).<br>
But the ultrasound showed baby kicking and moving and heartbeating strong and at a normal pace. Doctor said baby looked fine, said she had no idea what the blood was. My midwives (who said go to emergency for U/S) don't know either. No cramping, no fever. Just a gushing of watery blood. Stopped in the night while sleeping and didn't resume today. I'm feeling fragile and confused.. still worried even though baby looked fine. Anyone had anything like this? gosh, that must've been scary, mama! glad that everything looked okay. could it be irritation to your cervix? or placenta previa, although I'd think the drs would've said... anyways, I'm sending positive, mellow thoughts your way. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Oh my gosh how scary!!!<br>
I had some minor bleeding during my 15th week of pregnancy and it really freaked me out but it turned out that the baby was doing just great and the cause for the bleeding was a mystery. My midwife explained that some women just bleed sometimes during pregnancy and no one really knows why.<br>

I bled almost my entire pregnancy, but especially heavy from 24 weeks on.... turned out my placenta had partially abrupted.... so I was getting intermittent "leaks" from it...<br><br>
It is sooos scary but my daughter ended up just fine <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

One thing I was told when I bled at 13 weeks was that it was probaby a vein separating from the wall of my uterus. The doc said it was not uncommon and probably not significant.

I had bleeding at 7 and 10 weeks. Looked like irratation of the cervix and dilated capillaries of the cervix breaking.<br><br>
As long as baby is ok, things should be fine...

thanks all for the good thoughts and ideas everyone. abrupted placenta, vein separating, irritated cerivx.. i guess it could be anything. and it sounds like some of you have also had weird blood scares. it's so hard! i cried my head off for hours.. but things seem to be ok still, so i'm trying not to add stress.. thanks again for responding!!<br>
