<p>I started bleeding last night. Bright red, more than spotting but not gushing. No tissues or clots. It last only briefly, but is happening again this morning. This time brown spotting and very mild cramping. I worked out yesterday afternoon and had sex last evening.<br><br>
I've been reading about this being normal, but I am just so worried and scared. This never happened with my previous pregnancies. I have no health insurance or PCP. I thought I had several weeks to find a midwife. My worry wart instincts tell me to go to the ER. They might not be able to do anything but they could confirm a heartbeat or rule out ectopic pg. WWYD?</p>

<p>I would not go to the ER, unless the bleeding gets to be a <em>lot</em> (i.e., more than a normal period).  The reason is that depending on how far along you are and/or how good their techs are, you may not get an answer or you may get a wrong answer.  If you think you may have an ectopic pg, that would be different, but I think you are likely to have a lot more pain than mild cramping if that were the case. </p>

I am sorry u r going through this. It hasn't ever happened to me either but yesterday eve I started gushing bright red. Very mild cramping off and on and no clots, etc. I have a pcp that kept his clinic open and gave me an us. Baby was measuring right on track w a strong hb. Bleeding had stopped by this am but I was gushing again by about 1. I am taking it easy as should u. I would not go to the er but do to my history I couldn't wait so am glad I got in. Good luck finding answers and take care of yourself.

<p>I'm ok, and I think embryo-babe is ok too. There hasn't been any more bleeding since the brown spotting yesterday. I was able to talk to my best friend who studied with Michel Odent, is a birthing from within instructor and overall baby guru. She gave me much reassurance, as did searching for "bleeding while pregnant" here on mothering. It really looks like it is not that uncommon and was probably caused by the sex. Thanks for your responses. Sometimes it is just good to have somewhere to share this stuff.<br></p>

<p>I had bleeding in 2 of my successful pregnancies. One time after a vag. u/s that must have irritated my cervix. After going back to the doc. she confirmed that the cervix seems to be very sensitive and that the baby was fine. I am giving myself Lovenox blood thinner shots, therefore bleeding is more possible. Actually when I miscarried (twice) I always had missed m/c and never bled. Therefore bleeding only happened in my healthy pregnancies!</p>

<p>I went in yesterday after I woke up with period like bleeding. I'm home now. My best friend April took me to Providence yesterday. I was hoping to go in and hear everything was ok and I could have peace of mind through the bleeding. After four hours of urine, blood tests, abdominal and vaginal ultrasound, they concluded that it was a threatened miscarriage (only the slimmest of chance of this being a successful pregnancy, but they wouldn't say actual miscarriage) . Urine levels were negative, blood barely positive, and no embryonic sac in the uterus.<br><br>
I'm sad, but ok. April took good care of me. I stayed over at her house because we were having tons of company over here. James took care of the kids, and Ukiah too. April and I had sushi, then movies, chocolate and popcorn. I journaled, cried, talked to James, and had time to myself. James came and picked me up today. Feeling sore, weak, dizzy, sad. Going through the natural process. Just had a family talk and told the kids. Still have to call my mom and tell some other friends that were sharing in our excitement of expecting a wee one in July.</p>

<p>i am so sorry... i had bleeding last pregnancy with dd but i didnt accept an US, but i guess my urine test was positive....they said i might 50% misscarry but i had a successful pregnancy after that. <img alt="hug2.gif" src="http://files.mothering.com/images/smilies/hug2.gif"></p>
