I was at another October mama's blog tonight and I thought, why don't we have a blog ring? Does anyone else have a blog that would be willing to help me set up a ring (I've never done it)? Would anyone be interested?

I have a blog, but it is for family and stuff (not interesting in the least). I am getting ready to start one up that is less personal, so I will let you know when it is up!

I've been wanting to start one but figured no one would really be interested in reading it. If I do, I'll be a part of the ring...maybe one of you will read it occasionally.

I would read it!! I love reading blogs of people I "know," even if not IRL!

What's a blog ring? Is just like a collection of blogs? Can you tell I'm out of my element here?<br><br>
My dh has a political blog...sorry not much help if you're looking for pregnancy stuff. But I think it's good!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/loveeyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Loveeyes">:

a blog ring is basically a code that everyone can put on their blog, so that reading one blog can lead you to the next, and the next. At least, that's how I understand it. I don't update my blog enough, I mostly write in my diary, but I might be willing to write more if there were more people reading it...I don't know.

How do you start a blog? Is it free? I love reading some crafty people's blogs. They are so inspiring. Although, I end up spending so much time reading theirs that I don't do much crafty stuff myself. That will have to change! Hmmm...I guess the little one inside me will help change that habit by not giving me time for either!

I blog.<br><br>
It might be easier to set up a "clique," because ring codes are complicated and get broken easily. I have my own server space, so I could set it up.

Garden, go to <a href="http://www.blogspot.com" target="_blank">www.blogspot.com</a>. Yes, it is free, and pretty easy and fun.<br><br>
Glendora, a clique would be great. (how does it work?) It would be especially fun if we have a variety of blogs in it, including politics blogs and baby-progress blogs. I have one about midwifery, one about diapers, and one with family updates.

Basically, there'd be a list of all the blogs at one address, and everyone would put a text link or a graphic link on their site that refers to the master list. That way there's no weird number assignment that gets broken with a "ring," if people delete their blogs, and there's less chance of broken links from people that don't know HTML well enough to set up a ring code. Plus, if you're on LJ, you can just add a single URL to your Links List set up. It's practically impossible to add ring code to a free LiveJournal, and I know that lots of mamas here prefer LJ.

Ooooh, I like that clique idea. It sounds like it'd be a great way to get us together.

My other DDC was January 05, and that became "Janulicious."<br>
but "Octobicious" sounds too much like "Octobitchus."<br><br>
Octobrino?<br>
Octobernators?<br>
Octotron?<br>
Why does the tenth month start with "Oct-"?
