It has been mentioned to me recently that I should get checked for a blood clotting disorder.
Everything I have read about it, points to the earliest that it can cause a mc is after week 12.
If this is true, I do not fit the criteria.... mine always happen weeks 4-5 from LMP.
Can anyone verify if the above is true, or, if there is just cause for me to pursue the test?

I guess it would depend on the blood clotting disorder. I have Essential Thrombocythemia and it caused a 5 1/2 week miscarriage... Blood clots can certainly cause miscarriages in the first trimester.

I have anticardiolipin antibodies (lupus anticoagulant) and I usually miscarry when my period is only a couple of days late and I've just gotten a BFP. It's happened 7 times so far.

Good Grief! Are we twins?!
I think that will be one of the things I will specify to be done on the test.
So then the question is, do I have an agreement with the dr to get a script the very day I begin getting symptoms?
What are you trying for options?
I read today about taking baby asprin and folic acid daily, rather than taking shots. Good idea?

I can't take baby aspirin because I've had stomach surgery. the plan for me is to call and get a script for progestrone and heparin as soon as I get a BFP. The progestrone is only for 10 or 12 weeks (I think) and the heparin is for 20-24, then I'll slowly wean off. I'm not sure I agree with his instructions for the heparin though because I had a post partum stroke with my ds.
