Hi mamas,

I'm at the hospital being evaluated for miscarriage/threatened miscarriage. I'm 9 weeks. They took my BP and it was 129/97. I don't have high BP. it's usually 120/70 ish. Could it be high from being stressed out? I'm really concerned, as the only time I've seen it that high I was in labor.

It could be because you are highly stressed and anxious! What do the Drs Say?

I am praying for you!

My blood pressure is always elevated at the doctors. It was so very high my first few OB appt.'s (after a m/c) they were concerned. It's not high at the midwives, although it sure was after they took 15 minutes to find the heartbeat at my 20 week appt.! I have an anterior placenta, so they had trouble finding baby's heart tones.

I ALWAYS have low blood pressure... except yesterday when I went in in pain and it was 130/60

they were pretty sure it was due to the anxiety from the pain. anxiety can wreak havoc on your blood pressure even if its normally low.

Well, just the very environment of a hospital is enough to make my normally "normal" bp be higher than normal. Add in that with the anxiety of a might be miscarriage and yes, your BP is at risk.

Good luck and keep us mamas on the 12/10 DDC updated!

That's a very high disatolic rate, but I would attribute it to the stress and ask the doctor about it.
