Last week I had my blood work done. This doesn't happen every time but it isn't bizarre for it to happen to me, but I got the dizzy spells during and passed out, and for the rest of the day felt like I had the flu pretty much. I almost puked a couple times, slept for several hours, and for the rest of the day I was just dragging butt tired and weak.<br>
Why??? Does this happen to anyone else?

Never heard of that from a few vials of blood....blood donation yes, but blood work, no.

I get the dizzy thing and have passed out once. I have hard-to-find veins which sometimes collapse if they need more than a vial or two. I usually blame it on all the poking around and my needle-dread. They usually let me lie down and bring me a cookie or juice.

Happens almost every time to me!!<br><br>
I have really difficult veins and if a nurse is so lucky to get one it almost always collapses. I have yet to have any bloodwork done during this pregnancy and I am 29 weeks. I have attempted on 3 separate occasions by 3 sep. people and 3 sep. facilities and not once has a vein stayed open enough for them to get anything more than a few drops. The only reason I even care is because I (nor anyone in my family) do not know my blood type. I guess I am lucky to not have needed to ever know it, but it is not on any of my medical records. I am sure it is on my birth record, but the hospital records dept. has been such a PITA about getting them to me. So I am tempted to do a finger prick to check for type and my iron level...otherwise I give up!!<br><br>
Oh, btw my midwife was the only person I have not passed out on in several years, but my stupid veins collapsed on her.
