Ok, so I've been on nedrest and dealing with high blood pressure for 3 weeks. Last night it suddenly went up to 150/100 right before bed, but I had gotten up and folded some laundry, took a shower, gave the kids a bath (bad, I know, but nobody else was here to do it!!). I immediately laid back down when I realized this, but it stayed at 140/95 or so. I felt fine though.<br><br>
When I laid down for bed, I started having lots of braxton hicks- no big deal- but around 1am I realized they were coming every 10 minutes. SO I just figured some cervical changes might be going on and tried to sleep as best I could.<br><br>
This morning when I woke up, I had some blood tinged mucous! I am soooo excited, because I've been dreading the idea of a hospital induction because of my blood pressure, so I'm wondering if this means I could actually go into labor on my own soon!! I'm feeling slightly achy/crampy this morning but the contractions have stopped. My blood pressure is hovering around 150/95, luckily I have an appt this afternoon with my midwife so we can figure out a game plan!<br><br>
I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'll probably need a hospital birth, but would be SOOOO much happier if I could go into labor on my own. BTW, I'm only 37 weeks today!!! NEVER thought things would happen this early.

Oooo, I'm jealous! If the bleeding stops, it might have just been your mucus plug. Either way, sounds like a promising start to what is hopefully labor!<br><br>

Good luck, mama! May be a super exciting week for you! FWIW, both of my babies were born at 37 weeks; DD was born exactly at 37 weeks.

I had the initial swipe of mucous when I first woke up, then nothing, then just saw some more (it's almost noon). Is this a promising sign if it keeps showing on and off? I feel a lot more pressure/crampiness at the bottom of my uterus today too, and my SPD (pubic bone separation) is a lot more painful than usual. Wonder what's going on?<br><br>
I had one baby at 38 weeks by induction, and the 2nd at 39+5 weeks naturally, so I ama bit surprised that anything is going on. I just wish I knew if this meant labor was happening soon!<br><br>
Our grandmother just arrived last night from out of state to help out, and I wonder if my body just relaxed enough to let things happen now that someone is here to help!

That does sound awfully promising! Losing more and more mucus plug accompanied by period style cramping sounds like dilationg to me! I'd be willing to bet you're gonna beat your induction date! I sure hope you can! Boy would that be a triumph! Sounds very promising! Try and keep adrenaline out of the picture all together...even excitement. The more relaxed you are the more likely things will take off-it sounds like just having help arrive gave your body permission to rock and roll! How exciting! Just had a huge glop of mucous come out (sorry if TMI) but I'm on my way to the midwife in an hour for a prenatal appointment, so hopefully I'll know more then about the status of my cervix!
