So I went pee today and when I wiped there was blood, along with some tiny bits of mucousy stuff that was bloody. I put on a panty liner and about 2 hours later when I had to pee again there was blood on the panty liner but it looked more brownish then bright red. When I wiped there were more bits of the mucousy stuff.

So anyway, is this bloody show? Does it mean labor is soon? It is not cause for concern right? It's not a ton of blood or anything and baby has been moving good today. I made DH help me clean the house and we just went to the store to stock up on supplies, in case the time is soon.

Thanks for your thoughts

I hope labor starts for you soon!
I didn't have any bloody show until I had already been in labor for about 10 hours.
Good luck!

oooooo!!

well, it sounds pretty normal to me. i've always had some bleeding at the beginning of labor or close to it. good thinking for stocking up! i don't think there's anything to be worried about. it could just be your cervix ripening. mine can be highly sensitive and tends to bleed a little during dialation.

i hope this is it for you, mama! **i can kinda sense you're ready :**

:

I'm ready but I think everyone else is more ready!

I think part of the reason I'm ready is just because everyone else being so "ready" gets annoying, KWIM?

Just went pee again, a little bit more blood on the panty liner and when wiping. I think the cervix is ripening, I have been feeling little cervical type pains the past day or so.

Oh and also, I don't feel worried at all. My intuition tells me everything is fine and labor might start within 24 hours but you know, I haven't done this before so who knows?

Lots of gentle birthing vibes if this is it!

The previous 2 pregnancies, I didn't have any blood until I was definitely in labor. (I noticed it when I was still in the "debating whether this is the real deal or just BHC).

(Which is why I've become an obssessive TP-checker once again! *wink*

How exciting! This can of course happen a while before labor, but it's a good sign something may be happening soon...

I am so excited for you and your dh.

Sounds like what I experienced with my DD.... had bloody show, then a round of ctx that night, then the night after that was when things really got going.

I had also had a VE that day though, I think at this point having an exam or DTD can also cause some bloody show.

Speaking of DTD...time to go find DH and get this show on the road

Hope this is it for you!

Perhaps this is it for you! I haven't experienced blood until well into labour with either of my two children. Perhaps you will meet your sweet baby soon!

I've done a variety of things. Bloody show during labor but also can get it a couple weeks before labor begins. My cervix is pretty sensitive, though. So, like, now I'm dilated to a 4 and had bloody show about 10 days ago. I hope this is *it* for you, though!

My one and only time of having a bloody show before labor began was for my first. And that came exactly 7 days before my water broke. So it could be a while. But then again, it could be tonight!

This is exciting! I can live through everyone else here (since I am NEVER going to have this baby!).

Yay! Sounds like things may be happening!!! I didn't have any bloody show before labor with DD, my water just broke and then things started. Can't remember if I had any bloody discharge during labor or not :

Good luck! Can't wait to hear more!

YAAAYYYYY! That's so exciting... I hate to be so excited, just because I personally get my hopes way too high when everyone is saying that "this might be it..." but THIS REALLY MIGHT BE IT FOR YOU! I hope it is, and I'm glad to hear that you aren't scared... that's so important... and it's so great that you are all ready! I hope this really is it, and that as I'm writing this you are having some great labor contractions! Make sure you keep us posted!!!

I passed the mucous plug in a couple of pieces (mucousy, brown, stringy....not so much something that made me think "bloody show" as much as "mucous plug") the night that my contractions started with Ocie. I was starting from 0% effacement & no dilation, very firm and closed, and it was a longish process, but it (passing the plug) definitely marked the beginning of "it" for me.

I passed the mucous plug on Friday night, with contractions starting within an hour or so. Steadily worked on things through the next day and night, and was progressed enough to go in to the birthing center (at the hospital) on Sunday morning. She was born at 11:12 on Sunday night.

And since I was not effaced or dilated at all on Friday when I was checked--at 40w5d--I went out and bought some Evening Primrose Oil and took some capsules that day. (I really wanted to avoid any extra monitoring that I could, considering the pressure for that was about to start up the following week since I'd be 41 weeks, and I wanted my best odds of getting that non-interventive birth center birth!)

It was that night (after the EPO that afternoon) that things started churning, but the process was long. She was born at 41 weeks.

Good luck to you!!

Thanks to everyone for the tips and personal experiences.

I still haven't had any contractions so maybe it is going to be awhile. I know the baby will come whenever she is ready.

I might go get some EPO though.
