I'm due in March with #2 and am planning a VBAC at B-ton Hospital with Dr. Labban. Anybody out there who's had a VBAC at the hospital? Any thoughts, tips, advice, support...anything!

Mary Helen will be our doula and I feel really good about things. I'm just looking to hear some success local stories!

you might contact BABS to see if they have an active support group. sometimes, they may be able to connect you with a mama who has experienced what you're seeking.

http://bloomingtonbirth.com

I know BABS has a VBAC support group, but right now there aren't any moms participating who have had a VBAC--it's all women who WANT to have a VBAC. Good idea though. I'll talk to Georg'ann and see if she can put me into contact with anyone. Thanks!

Ok, so I personally can't help you out at all with the VBAC, I've just had a couple of "not as I planned" birth experiences. But I have a friend who did have 2 VBAC's with Dr. Labban at Bloomington Hospital. She told me (when I was trying for a VBAC) to just make sure to let the nurses and Dr.'s know how strongly I felt about what I wanted. Good Luck to you Mama! Also, love your name, Yellowwood is a favorite play, hike, explore place for our family!!

Dr. Labban is our back-up OB for our homebirth He's cool. And cute. Maybe it's my pregnant hormones there... Um anyway, I know from talking to a few people that B'ton hospital is prretty naturalbirth friendly, so I would assume they are VBAC friendly too. I hope you have an awesome birth!

I totally agree with Tara about Labban's cuteness factor! I'm sure it's a combination of the hormones and his accent. He did my c-section for #1 and although the birth obviously didn't go as I had hoped and planned, I was nothing but thrilled with his level of care. He was so very good to us. And, he knows how much a VBAC means to me this time around. I feel very good about things!

no advice on the vbac... just posting because I noticed your thread and I had my first dd at b'ton hospital with Georg'ann as my doula. I miss BABS and I miss Georg'ann! I found b'ton hospital to be very supportive of my natural birth (with a little help from Georg'ann! ). I didn't know about Dr Labban- woulda been cool to have a cute OB instead of Dr Brittain with his funky handlebar mustache

Sending you good VBAC vibes!
