Hoping someone here knows more than me!

I have two blueberry bushes, both are grown in big containers. I got one of them 3 years ago and it was fine the first year and last year. This year, the main trunk has zero new growth on it (the other bush is just fine). However, it has several new branches coming out from the base of the trunk that are bright green and look like they are new growth.

Has anyone seen this before? I'm wondering whether I should prune back the presumably dead main trunk or not (and what happened to it of course).

Any suggestions appreciated.
