Well, i have washed my new UBPFS about a million times and they are still repelling.

So now we are trying boiling. My DH jumped into the project and now has a big old steaming pot full of dipes on the stove...the only problem is that we are not sure how long to boil 'em!

ANyone had to go this route? How long does a dipe have to cook before it's done?

I had the same problem! I swear I washed my UBCPFs ten times and they were so repellent I could have used them for a cover. I boiled them too, and I added a squirt or two of Simple Green since it is such a great degreaser. I let the water come to a boil and put the dipes and Simple Green in after I turned the fire off. I let 'em sit util the water was merely warm, then washed em again, and they were just fine. I
my UBCPFs!

next time add a little dawn dish soap to the water (if boiling add it there, and you only have to wash and dry once) if not boiling just put it in the washer (just a little goes a long way) and that will cut down the time washing/drying before use!

Unbelievable! Some of these CPFS are STILL repelling!

I know i have washed them no less than 10 times, plus boiling. We did not use dawn, but we did use a little squirt of palmolive dish soap when boiling, as well as using All free and clear, oxyclean (i know it's bad, but i was desperate at that point to use these new dipes) in the washer on the Hot cycle. Now we are trying Tide! I can't believe how much trouble we are having.
His infant sized PFs did not take nearly as much effort to break in.

Fortunately, we have found that we can still use the infant size if we just trifold it and lay it in a cover with no snappi. Works fine, we just have to change him VERY often. Still having to use sposies at night, much to my dismay, but hopefully not for too much longer. I swear, Happy Heinies have become the elusive Holy Grail for night time!

Well, off to wash these dratted prefolds AGAIN! grrrrr!
