really getting bolder about the fact that we are still nursing at 41 months.

And, I'm slinging him again a whole lot more than I used to, even tho he's 45 lbs.

But, I find myself talking a lot about what he's eating and his food issues and sensitivities with people, and when they ask how I get the protein in him or whatever, I just nonchalantly toss out the comment "oh, he's still breastfeeding"

I even bf'd in the zoo the other day in broad daylight, on a park bench, with people milling about! But, I have to admit, I was there with anthromama and annettemarie, so of course I felt boosted by their presence

Can I just say I think you rock as a mama? I wish it was common-place to see toddlers nursing. You're making a difference. I'm not sure I've ever seen any mama nurse in public unless it was someone I knew.

Whenever I feel a little self-conscious, I just think about a friend of mine who nonchalantly nursed her 3 1/2 year old at the Chicago Museum of Art as casually as she did at home. This was back when I was single and had no kids. She really normalized the whole thing for me.

Way to go for modeling behavior for future mothers of nursing toddlers!
