Hmm.
How do you keep it on hand? I was freezing it in ice cube trays and then putting it in ziploc bags to store but I find that I don't use it nearly as often that way. On the other hand, if I put it in the fridge, I don't use it up before it goes bad.
I'd like to start getting it into our diet on a more regular basis. I'm not sure what I'm really asking here. I just know I need help somehow!

Okay, so maybe what I'd like to know is how do YOU work bone broth into your family's diet everyday? And how do you keep up with the "demand"?

Honestly? I'm still figuring it out. I used to freeze it flat in plastic bags, but I don't use it much that way. I also have tried keeping it fresh, and it went bad. Then, once recently I made just one duck carcass of it, and planned several meals around it, and used it up fast. So.... I'm working on it.

I always make soup, the same recipe that I can do without thinking, in the days after making bone broth. Then the rest I put in a quart-size wide-mouth canning jar, and in the freezer. When I want to reheat I just put the jar in a pot of simmering water; it reheats quickly.

I usually have two meals a week where I need chicken broth, and I make broth once a week. We usually go through it with just those two meals, so I don't work it into our daily diet. Although we do have about a quart in the freezer now, combined leftover broth from the past two weeks.

If I really wanted it in our diet every single day, I think I'd try the ice cube method that you already tried. Hmmm...not sure what to tell you. What do you cook every day?

I make a big batch once every couple weeks (either turkey or chicken and label it that way). I keep them in plastic 1 pt. and 1 qt. yogurt containers in the freezer. I thaw in the microwave when I need it if it matters (I know, you don't use a microwave though). I use it in gravy, soup, cooking kale (new), a bunch of dishes (chicken marsala, arroz con pollo, jambalaya), but if someone is sick, we have it with most meals, with a little rice and veggie added to it.
