I checked out the kids section at the bookstore yesterday looking for for "learning about your body" books with intact penises.

The best one I found is called "It's So Amazing: A Book About Eggs, Sperm, Birth, Babies, and Families" by Robie Harris.

It has a page called "What's Inside" & "What's Outside" with 2 illustrations of an intact penis. It does show an illustration of an intact & a circed penis side-by-side as well, and explains that some babies have the foreskin removed, some do not. It does say either way is "perfectly normal". I don't like that part (maybe I'll mark over that part).

Overall though, it was the best book I saw that acknowledged the foreskin.

It does sound interesting. I would be very surprised if a child's book made any ethical remarks about circumcision though. And if its made for boys what good would it do to make them feel negative about their body? They are not mature to handle the ideas of circumcision, imo.

What about that "what's happening to my body?" book by Lynda Maradas? That talks about circumcision, mentioning something about "more and more people are beginning to question it"

That's my thought...if a mom/dad second question "do I really need this done?" they'll research it.

I'd really prefer to just find books with only intact illustrations & explanations. Call me an ass, but I'd prefer to let the parents of circ'd kids enjoy the ambiguous books. I want as much as possible, in my highly circing area, to show that intact is the NORM.
