Hi!

We wanted to take Bradley classes nearby our home but unfortunately my husband's schedule isn't at all conducive with the class schedule.

Is there a book that anyone can recommend for him? I'm a little worried b/c he's a bit of a sports nut and somehow I see him at the bedside while I'm in labour - whistle in one hand, stopwatch in the other and all the time wearing a white t-shirt that says "COACH" across the front.
LOL....just hoping we can inject a little sensitivity into his blood before we give birth!

Thanks in advance!

Well I always highly recommend Birthing from Within by Pam England! It's a great book and she actually discusses the "Pitfalls of Labor Coaching" and has a section on "Getting Dads Involved" as well as "What's a Father to do?"

During my last pregnancy, I marked a lot of pages in a lot of different books that I thought would be helpful. I'm a faster and more avid reader than my partner, so if I came to something that seemed specifically useful for him, I grabbed the post-it. The Birth Partner is a great book, but I also wanted him to read the the stuff for the laboring parent.

Birthing from Within helped Bryce last time and he's re-reading it with me.
We have the Birth Partner but haven't even opened it yet.

Can anyone suggest a good starting point if he can't get the whole book in?

(I just kept telling him that when I say "I can't do it anymore" that I just THINK that and I need him to tell me that I AM doing it.....
