I have a friend who's son has always been very active and has unusually violent tendencies (in comparison to any child I've seen) I'm not saying this to judge her or her DS I just want to help her in any way I can as she is at the end of her rope with him.
: I would really like to find some books that really teach positive parenting solutions for children like her DS who are more active then others if anyone has any ideas of something I could get for her please let me know! Something that stays in the calm gentle parenting style please as this is what she needs to learn.

I guess my first suggestion would be The Explosive Child http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/006...055828?ie=UTF8

Kids, Parents and Power Struggles http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/006...e=UTF8&s=books

How to Talk so Kids will Listen http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/038...055828?ie=UTF8

Raising Your Spirited Child http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/006...055828?ie=UTF8

These introduce the ideas that children's behavior has a reason, how to communicate regarding needs rather than blame and how to change the dynamics in a family to cooperation.

Well, I am happy to report that our local library's website says that they have all but, one of the books that you two ladies suggested!
This is perfect as I can just give her a list and have her check them out on her own this way. Thank you very much, both of you! I'll let her know I had a little help picking them
